    2009 Merlot View Label
  • Appellation: Wahluke Slope Duck Pond Cellars (Dundee, OR) -- (Winery Info & All Wines)
  • Winemaker: Mark Chargin
  • Barrel aging both French and American oak barrels added notable structure. The wine is rich with dark fruits such as plum and blackberry integrating beautifully with the oak. Hints of leather and velvety texture with a bit of chocolate linger on the smooth finish. Excellent accompaniment for lamb or roast beef. Also pairs well with medium intensity foods like grilled portabellas or lasagna.

French oak aging adds vanillin complexity making it enjoyable now, or watch it soften gracefully with a few additional years of cellar aging. To... ...read more
